Thailand came alive in the second half and scored 1-0 win over the Philippines to top Group A in their last group stage match in the 2022 AFF Women's Championship Tuesday night, July 12, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

In front of 2,923-strong spectators, Kanyanat Chetthabutr gave the lone goal of the match at the 75th mark as the Thais moved atop with 13 points while the Filipinas remained with 12 points heading into the knockout stage.
Thailand, which stayed undefeated in four games with one draw, and the Philippines, which sustained a 4-0-1 win-draw-loss record, advance to the semifinals.
Reigning champion Vietnam and Myanmar, which both have nine points, vie for the No. 1 spot in Group B and face each other in their final group stage match on Wednesday at the same time and venue while Cambodia and Timor-Leste collide for final placements over at the City of Imus Grandstand in Cavite.
After Quinley Quezada's soft kick went over the post in the 73rd minute, the Thais took control of momentum through high ball passing off Ploychompoo Somnuek as Chetthabutr found the back of the net.
The Filipinas had key lapses on the defensive end and seemed to have a miscommunication inside the box when Chetthabutr attacked with the header.
"It was a tough game. Both teams could've won the game. Unfortunately, one error costs us the game tonight but we had enough chances to win the game," said national team head coach Alen Stajcic. "We got punished by one error and that's what happens in international football."
Sarina Bolden, who made a hat trick in the Philippines' 4-1 win over Malaysia, entered at the 81st minute in exchange for Carleigh Frilles but her late efforts down the stretch weren't enough.
Bolden almost had a clear shot at the 89th minute but Kanjanapom Saenkhun and Tipkritta Onsamai showed pesky defense as the Filipinas' striker stumbled and no foul was given as well.
The Philippines was given extra five minutes to settle for an equalizer but Bolden and Quezada just couldn't find the back of the net.
Olivia McDaniels also held her ground and saved a crucial attempt from Jiraporn Mongkoldee to ward off fuel to the fire.
