Conscience-stricken suspect admits killing Princess – police

The man accused of killing industrial engineer Princess Dianne Dayor has confessed to robbing and strangling the victim to death, the Malolos City Police said Sunday, July 10.

According to Malolos police chief Lt. Col. Ferdinand Germino, suspect Darwin Hernandez de Jesus, 30, of Barangay Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan, finally admitted killing Dayor as he was bothered by his conscience.

De Jesus was pinpointed by witnesses as the killer of Dayor whose decomposing body was discovered on July 5 in a grassy area in Barangay Tikay, City of Malolos.

Dayor was reported missing when she was not able to go to work after leaving her house early morning of July 2.

De Jesus made his confession in the presence of four lawyers including Atty. Juvic de Gala, chief of the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) on Saturday, July 9.

Police said the suspect narrated how he robbed and strangled the victim to death.

Lt. Col. Germino said that before the suspect admitted committing the crime, identification cards of Dayor were recovered by investigators at the rented apartment of De Jesus.

The IDs were found inside Dayor’s wallet which was found missing while police were investigating the case.

De Jesus is facing robbery with homicide charges, police said.

De Jesus initially denied any participation in the killing of Dayor when he was presented at a press conference by Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, at Camp General Alejo Santos on Thursday evening, July 7.

Last Saturday, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando visited the wake of Dayor in Barangay Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan and condoled with her mother Jaqueline and relatives. (Freddie C. Velez)
