The Philippines booked its ticket to the semifinals of the 2022 AFF Women's Championship after a 4-1 comeback win against Indonesia Sunday night, July 10, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Tahnai Annis and Sarina Bolden, who scored a hat trick, connived in the second half after not only trailing for the first time in the tournament but also conceding their first goal.

Still, the unbeaten Filipina booters remained atop the Group A standings with 12 points while Thailand followed suit with 10 points at No. 2.

They are now assured of the next round and will next face Thailand on Tuesday, July 12.

Over at the Binan Football Stadium, the Thais made easy work of Malaysia, 4-0, while Australia also eked out a 4-1 victory against Singapore earlier at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

"It's a good game to have as experience. You really gotta give credit to Indonesia. I thought they were the better team in the first and fully deserved the win -- their lead at that time," said Filipinas head coach Alen Stajcic after the match.

"But for us to come back and show a lot of resilience and good character within the squad so it's good to be in that good position in one respect."

Down 1-0 after a costly misread from Filipinas' goalkeeper Inna Palacios, the Philippines came alive in the next 45 minutes as Tahnai Annis first scored for an equalizer to retake a much-needed momentum.

Sofia Harrison's cross was directed to Bolden but the ball landed precisely for Annis to strike at the 46th minute.

Bolden then stepped on the gas and completed a hat-trick with the first goal coming from the swift dribbling and passing of Sara Eggesvik.

Isabella Flannigan took control of the ball and dished it out to Eggesvik, who zoomed past two defenders, to pave the way for Bolden's first goal near the post at the 57th mark.

In less than 10 minutes, Jaclyn Sawicki once again found both Flanigan and Bolden open near the goalie's area but it was the latter who found the back of the net at the 63rd minute.

And it only took three minutes for the 26-year-old Bolden to finalize the hat trick and score her fifth goal of the tournament at the 66th mark off a self-rebound.

Katrina Guillou had a key defensive stop midfield and dished the ball to the zooming Bolden, who actually had a clean header attempt from a long Annis pass.

Earlier in the first half, Carlo Bio Pattinasarany outplayed and put pressure on Palacios which resulted in a howler as the Thai forward found the back of the net at the 37th minute.
