Kris Aquino on ongoing treatment, testing COVID positive along with sons

Kris Aquino took to social media on Thursday, June 30, to post a video of her undergoing various tests, as with several photos and videos of her kids.

It also contained an open letter for her brother, the late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Among others, Kris apologized for being late in greeting him a happy birthday.

She also detailed how a “corticosteroid challenge” gave her so much pain, something she described as “even worse than bone marrow aspiration.”

Kris then revealed how she and Bimby tested COVID-19 positive around three days after her eldest Joshua tested positive.

She related that she experienced chills and fever, while Joshua was “not his usual self.”

All these were “definitely a test of fortitude and endurance,” said Kris.

But for a bit of good news, she shared how her liver and kidney are still functioning normally.

She also tested negative in most types of cancers.

According to Kris, she is set to undergo Rituxan, which she described as chemotherapy but for people with autoimmune diseases.

She was told the treatment would go on for the next year and a half.

Kris made clear in the caption, the post is simply “para alam ng lahat ito ang totoo...

“This isn’t a permanent goodbye, ibalato nyo na lang hanggang malagpasan namin itong matinding pagsubok. Thank you for all your prayers- I am forever grateful.

“Promise, pag may good news ako, after thanking God & telling my sisters & my trusted friends- you’ll see a post from me. In God’s perfect timing…”

Kris has three confirmed autoimmune conditions: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) and Churg Strauss syndrome, collectively known as EGPA.

She is currently in Houston, Texas, USA.
