CSB stakes unbeaten run vs SSCR

College of St. Benilde stakes its unbeaten record when it takes on San Sebastian Friday in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Match is at 12 noon with the Lady Blazers riding on the crest of a five-game winning streak that cemented their hold of the top spot.

Mapua, in contrast, tries to regain its composure from a recent loss to St. Benilde when it squares off with San Beda at 2:30 p.m.

The Lady Cardinals are currently in the middle standings with a 3-2 record while the Lady Red Spikers are near the bottom with a 1-4 mark.

But eyes will be on St. Benilde as it hopes to follow up its commanding 25-17, 25-11, 25-12 victory over Mapua last Tuesday.

The Lady Blazers are expected to be a force to reckon with as they have only lost a single set so far in all their five victories.

Jade Gentapa and Jhasmine Pascual are slated to carry the offensive fight for St. Benilde after currently leading the spiking department, with reinforcements coming from Mycah Go, Angelika Mondejar and leading setter Cloanne Mondonedo.

But San Sebastian, which totes a 4-1 mark, are set to give up a tough fight in its own bid to fan its three-game winning streak.

The Lady Stags are coming off a hard-earned 24-26, 26-28, 25-20, 25-20, 17-15 victory over the University of Perpetual Help Lady Altas last Sunday.

Leading scorers Reyann Canete and Katherine Santos banner the Lady Stags along with Christina Marasigan, setter Alexia Sison and Jewelle Bermillo.
