Central Luzon police vow to sustain war vs drugs

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office (PRO)-3 director Police Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay assured Friday, July 1, that the Central Luzon police is committed in the campaign against illegal drugs as it is one of the main achievements of the Duterte administration.

Baccay reported that from July 2016 to date, PRO-3 seized 821,084.95 grams of shabu with a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P5,582,978,187.17; 1,204,634.48 grams of marijuana worth P144,556,137.66, and 10,052.5 ecstasy tablets.

He said that 106,790 anti-illegal drugs operations were conducted in which 62,749 individuals were arrested and 2,423 suspects killed in legitimate operations.

“We would remain relentless in our anti-illegal drug operations and in our drive to put a stop to the illegal drug trade,” Baccay assured.

PRO-3 Public Information Office (PIO) staff disclosed that most of the fatalities tried to fight back when they were being arrested or fleeing arresting officers.
