ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo offered role in film 'K-pop: Lost in America' with Rebel Wilson

K-pop idol and actor Cha Eun-woo, member of boy band ASTRO, has been offered the role to star in the Hollywood film “K-pop: Lost in America” alongside “Senior Year” star Rebel Wilson.

Cha Eun-woo is reportedly considering the offer and preparing for the movie by partially rearranging his schedule for the second half of the year, Korean media outlet Star News reported on July 1.

According to Deadline, Wilson and Charles Melton will star in “K-pop: Lost in America” to be directed by Korean filmmaker Yoon Je-kyun and co-produced by Lynda Obst and CJ Entertainment’s Lee Mik-yung.

The film was written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer while the current draft was written by Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith.

“K-pop: Lost in America” will tell the story of a new K-pop group that gets stranded in Waco, Texas shortly before making their US debut in New York.

They are left with no phones, money and transportation, and do everything to make it to New York City.

Filming for the movie will start in the fall, Deadline added.
