Woman drug den maintainer, four others arrested in Mabalacat City buy-bust

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police here arrested a woman and her four patrons during a buy-bust in South Daang Bakal, Barangay Dau in this city on Thursday night, June 9.

The raiders seized some P103,500 worth of shabu from Elizabeth Buenavista, 42, maintainer of the drug den, and resident of Brgy Dau, Mabalacat City.

Also arrested were Sunshine Paniza, 29, of Brgy. Xevera, Mabalacat City; Beneir Almeda, 34, of Brgy. Lakandula, Mabalacat City; Sheila Idos, 23, of Brgy. Epsa, Angeles City; and Melissa Libre, 23, also of Brgy. Dau.

The suspects yielded five pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P103,500; assorted drug paraphernalia; and the marked money used by the poseur buyer.

The operation was jointly conducted by operatives of PDEA Central Luzon and local police.

“Nakakabahala na rin ang mga ganitong operasyon at pati babae ang lalakas na ng loob sa pagmamantine ng isang drug den,” a resident who requested not to be named told Manila Bulletin.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
