Police identified the victim as Jose Allan Braza, 59, of Barangay 35.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said Braza was having coffee in a store when the perpetrators shot him at close range and fled.
Sarona said the perpetrators might have monitored the victim’s routine as they waited for their target in the area.
Braza succumbed to two bullet wounds in the head.
Police recovered from the crime scene three empty fired cartridge cases of an alleged .45 caliber pistol.
Sarona said they are looking into grudges or work-related as possible angles in the killing.
He said they have not yet confirmed if Braza was indeed an asset of the CIDG as the information they received was only based from his family and people who knew him in the area.
Sarona said the victim had no criminal record.
