Notorious robber falls in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – An alleged notorious robber was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport here last Wednesday, June 8.

Police identified the suspect as Alvin Martines, 26, of Barangay Alijis here, who allegedly yielded 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000.

Martines was an alleged former member of the Aki Cuadra robbery hold-up group, according to Police Major Joery Puerto, head of the Police Station 8.

Puerto said that after the death of the group’s leader and the other members, Martines reportedly engaged in the illegal drugs trade.

Puerto said Martines has many robbery as well as illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms cases.

Police also recovered from Martines a. 38 caliber revolver and three live ammunition.
