Director Todd Philips announces the coming of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’
If you love Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in “Joker,” then you’re in luck as the sequel to the 2019 psychological thriller film is confirmed by director Todd Philips.

Through an Instagram post, the filmmaker shares the title of the upcoming movie, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” and a photo of the lead star. Although Warner Bros. has not officially confirmed the news yet, it has reshared Todd’s photos on Twitter.
As for the plot, it is yet to be revealed in the future. But looking at the title alone, “folie à deux” is a French phrase that means “madness for two” in English, is it likely that one of Batman’s iconic villains will have a partner?
The “Joker” has garnered numerous praises for its retelling of the Clown Prince of Crime’s origin story. Set in the 1980s, the film centers its story on Arthur Fleck, an aspiring comedian who becomes a nihilistic criminal, inspiring a violent counter-cultural revolution in Gotham City.
During the 92nd Academy Awards, the film earned 11 nods, taking home the Best Original Score award and Joaquin winning in the Best Actor category.
