DAGUPAN CITY – The Dagupan City Health Office (CHO) has denied an online claim that expired Moderna vaccines have been administered in a vaccination site at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome last Tuesday.

In statement, the CHO said the vaccination team received the vaccines around 3 p.m. last June 6 from Department of Health (DOH) representatives who delivered them at the People’s Astrodome.

The CHO said the vaccines have an extended shelf life.

“While the original expiry label of Moderna Vaccine Lot #000108A reads 5/23/22 or May 23, 2022, the vaccine lot in question is with an extended shelf life. The property transfer report (PTR) provided by the DOH states that the shelf life of Moderna Vaccine Lot #000108A is extended until July 23, 2022,” CHO said.

Thorough investigation showed that the concept of shelf life extension was properly explained to the vaccine recipients.

The CHO called on the public to be responsible in sharing unverified information so as not to create panic, adding that spreading disinformation is not helping people but creating confusion.

The CHO encouraged those with similar or related concerns to approach frontliners at the vaccination site to verify relevant information. “The City Health Office’s priority is everyone’s well-being.”
