Inting designated as acting Comelec chair

Commissioner Socorro Inting has been designated as acting chairperson of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Frances Arabe of the Comelec Education and Information Department confirmed the designation of Inting Wednesday, June 8.

She said Inting's designation took effect June 2.

This is the second time that Inting became Comelec acting chair. She was also designated as acting chair when then Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas retired in Feb 2022.

Later Saidamen Pangurangan was appointed as poll chief but was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments.
