TAYABAS CITY, Quezon -- A dead baby was found floating in the Alitao River in sitio Ibaba, Barangay Wakas in this city on Tuesday morning, June 7.
The baby, about seven to eight months old, was found at around 10:30 in the morning by a group of youngsters who were in the river catching fishes.
The youngsters then reported it to Ronaldo Fabie, Brgy Wakas chief of barangay tanod, who immediately reported to the Tayabas City Philippine National Police.
Police along with the members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) responded and retrieved the baby’s body and made coordination with the City Health Office head Dr. Hermando Marquez.
Police Executive Master Sergeant Elmer Manguiat of Tayabas City Police is now conducting an investigation to trace the baby’s mother and be filed with corresponding criminal complaint.
