Sotto to help BBM’s fight against illegal drugs

Outgoing Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III revealed that he and President-elect Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ M. Marcos Jr. had talked about his probable help in the incoming administration’s fight against illegal drugs.

‘’I said they can count on my help,’’ Sotto told Senate reporters in his Viber account.

Sotto said incoming Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez told him that they hope he (Sotto) would not mind if they keep in touch with him.

‘’I said Okay,’’ he added.

Sotto said he and the President-elect talked at the latter’s office.

‘’I was invited. Private conversations,’’ he explained.

Sotto was named Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chairman in July, 2008 during the Arroyo administration.

He replied in the affirmative when asked if his thrusts on drug smuggling are: There is no drug addiction if there are no drug buyers; and drug rehabilitation.
