PCOO receives broadcasting equipment from Chinese gov't

The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) received on Tuesday various broadcasting equipment from the Chinese government aimed to expand the government's communication programs.

PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar said the various equipment, which include 10-kilowatt FM band digital audio broadcasting transmitter, broadcast station and sound absorbing panels, will be placed at the

Government Communications Academy in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon once the construction of the building is finished.

"Once operational, we will soon be able to expand our reach in communicating the programs, services and responses of government to the public, especially in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental and other neighboring provinces in Mindanao," Andanar said during the event.

Andanar expressed confidence that the country is "moving closer to our goal of establishing a training facility that will heighten the skills and knowledge of our fellow communicators in government."

With the new equipment, Andanar said he trusts the Philippine Broadcasting Service, which is the direct beneficiary of the Chinese donation, to be able to maximize the equipement even as the Duterte administration "comes to its end in the weeks to come."

"I am pleased to convey my gratitude to the Chinese embassy for their unwavering support to the PCOO as we continue to modernize our information delivery services here in the country," he said.

"I hope to see more of the dreams and aspirations we have toiled for PCOO and its attached agencies in the past six years come into fruition," he added.
