United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman is expected to meet President-elect Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. when she visits the Philippines.

Manila is among the scheduled trips of Sherman in Asia.
Sherman, according to the US Department of State, will visit the Philippines, Republic of Korea (ROK), Vietnam, and Laos from June 5 to 14.
In her visit here, the US official will meet with Marcos and other officials of the incoming and outgoing administrations.
"In Manila, Deputy Secretary Sherman will meet with President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and senior members of the incoming and outgoing administrations to discuss new ways to deepen the bilateral U.S.-Philippines Alliance," the US Department of State said.
Sherman's visit to the region follows last month’s US-ASEAN Special Summit, President Biden’s visit to South Korea and Japan, the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Tokyo, and the launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
Her scheduled visit to the region "reflects the United States’ continued commitment to the Indo-Pacific," the US said.
