The Pasay City government, together with Coca Cola Philippines, launched a plastic recycling program called “Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro Panalo” that aims to convert polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles into.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the “Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro Panalo” was launched on Saturday, June 4 at Stanford basketball court in Barangay 65, Pasay City.
Rubiano said the project falls under the E of her HELP (Health and housing, E-education, economic growth and environment, L-livelihood and lifestyle, P-peace and order, palengke (market) and pamilya (family) agenda.
She said residents who can collect one and half kilos of PET bottles can exchange these for any Coke product at the identified collection hub partners: EDM Store, 2407 M. Dela Cruz, Pasay City; Rhyelnetts Eatery, 2193 Luna St.; Omar Minimart, 2642 Tramo St.; Jacquelyn Store, 2413 P. Villanueva St.; Bhebang Store, Market Rd. cor. Taft, Pasay City; and Freya Consumer Good Store, 2336 Leveriza St. Brgy. 40, Pasay City.
The mayor said the bottles that can be exchanged for any Coke product are those with label “I” which means clear or no color, clean, no any particles placed inside the bottle, and are dry.
Rubiano said the project will also help in making the city’s surroundings and environment clean.
