Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco shared that the inauguration will be followed by a thanksgiving-cum-music-fest to be headlined by rapper Andrew E., Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña, and Giselle Sanchez.

The music fest is entitled “MUSIKAHAN: Pasasalamat ni Vice President Sara Duterte.”

Both events are open to the public, who will be shuttled for free to the San Pedro Square at the intersection of San Pedro and Bolton Streets in Davao City.

“On June 18 to 19, several streets in the downtown area near the vicinity of City Hall and neighboring areas will be closed to vehicles. The driving public is advised to take other routes for these two days. Heavy traffic should be expected during the weekend,” Frasco, who was just nominated to be Secretary of Tourism, said.

The events will run from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., but the grounds will be open to the public starting 2 p.m.

A Thanksgiving Mass shall be held from 3 p.m to 4 p.m, followed by the inaugural ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

Duterte, who is expected to wear a Filipiniana-themed custom-made attire by Davao designer Silverio Anglacer, chose to take her oath as 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines before Supreme Court justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando.

The ceremony will begin with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem by the University of Mindanao Alumni Chorale, followed by an ecumenical prayer and song number.

Duterte will then take her oath and sign the Oath of Office before delivering a speech.

The official ceremony will end with a photo opportunity with Archbishop Romulo Valles and all the bishops, priests, and nuns in attendance.

“The option of a photo opportunity for the general public with Vice President Sara Duterte will be available at Quezon Park fronting City Hall beginning 6:00 p.m.,” an advisory from Duterte camp said.

Guests are reminded to occupy the following areas: San Pedro St. corner CM Recto (in front of SP Building), Bolton St. corner Rizal St. (starting at Jollibee Bolton), San Pedro St. corner Anda St. and Bolton St. corner Magallanes St.

Duterte has provided free shuttle services to the public via the following routes: Toril District Hall, Gaisanao Calinan, Mintal, and Lasang Overpass, Bunawan, Tibungco.

Attendees of the event are reminded that there will be security screening at all entry points.

It is not clear yet if her father, outgoing President Duterte, plans to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The outgoing Davao City mayor chose June 19 as her inauguration so she could attend President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s inauguration on June 30.

Despite being inaugurated almost two weeks earlier, she will only take office at noon of June 30, as stated in the Constitution.
