Pasay City Mayor Emi congratulates 4 city athletes for winning in SEA Games

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano congratulated the four city athletes for winning the bronze medals in the recent Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Vietnam.

Rubiano said the athletes who are all residents of Pasay City are Leah Jhane Lopez who won in Judo Women’s 48-kilogram division, Ma. Jeanalane Lopez in Judo Women’s 45-kilogram division, George Baclaga in Kurash Men’s 90-kilogram division, and Jhon Jhon Manaol Bobier who was part of the Sepak Tacraw team.

She said the medals brought by the four athletes, as well as the other Filipinos who competed in the SEA Games, made the city and the country very proud.

The mayor said the medals won by the four athletes were added to the Philippine tally placing the country in the fourth place of the “biennial sports meet”

Rubiano said the Philippines won 52 gold medals, 70 silver medals, and 104 bronze medals.

She said the achievement brought by the athletes is a big contribution to the Philippine sports.
