Partly cloudy with a few rain showers or thunderstorms this weekend

The ridge or extension of a high pressure area (HPA) will be the dominant weather system that will bring partly cloudy conditions and isolated rain showers over most parts of the country this weekend.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, June 4, said the ridge of the HPA was extending across the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
It is likely that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms may affect most of the country.
PAGASA advised the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
Luzon may also experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao will have light winds and slight coastal waters.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the PAGASA is not expecting a tropical cyclone development inside the Philippine area of responsibility within the next three days.
