Parañaque LGU launches 'Crush Dengue, Para Di Maglanding on You!'

The Parañaque City government launched “Crush Dengue, Para Di Maglanding on You” during the declaration of Dengue Awareness Month on June 1.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez and City Health Office (CHO) head Dra. Olga Virtusio led the signing of pledge of commitment during the launching of “Crush Dengue, Para Di Maglanding on You!” held at the covered court of Barangay San Isidro.

Olivarez and Virtusio were joined by representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Department of Education (DepEd) in signing the pledge of commitment to fight dengue in the city.

The mayor said since May was already declared as the start of rainy season, he told all barangay officials in the city’s 16 communities to do their part in the fight against dengue through information and educational campaign on the importance of clean surroundings.

Olivarez said the best medicine in fighting any form of virus like the Covid-19 and dengue is to strengthen its prevention.

He said the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) also continues conducting clean-up drive all over the city to prevent the spread of any disease.

The mayor said it is very important for the residents to search and destroy mosquito-breeding sites and use mosquito repellents to protect themselves.
