DILG conducts performance assessment on drug war, peace & order in Quirino

The Department of the Interior and Local Government in the province of Quirino has resumed its performance audits on peace, order and drug abuse in all the municipal peace and order (MPOC) and anti-drug abuse councils (MADAC) from 2019 to 2022.

DILG Quirino Provincial Director Salvacion Z. Baccay led the Provincial Audit Team (PAT) and assessed the functionality and effectiveness of the local POCs and ADACs based on existing policies.

She emphasized the importance of conducting performance assessments to identify gaps and appropriate interventions for the improvement of the local councils while commending the MPOCs and MADACs in the province for their ‘functional’ and ‘high functional’ performances.

Baccay also noted that the result of the POC and ADAC audits shall also form part of the local government (LGU) assessment in the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

For peace and order councils, the audit criteria are based on organization, number of meetings conducted, policies, plan and budget, reports and innovations with general supervision being added as an additional criterion in 2021.

Meanwhile, anti-drug abuse councils were assessed in terms of organization, conduct of meetings, allocation of funds for anti-illegal drug activities, formulation and implementation of ADAC plans and programs, supervision and support to components ADACs and innovations. (Chito A. Chavez)
