South Korean carrier resumes Clark service

South Korean low cost airline, Fly Gangwon, has resumed its operations at Clark International Airport (CRK) last weekend .

Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), operator of CRK's New Terminal, made the announcement today, Thursday, June 30.

Fly Gangwon temporarily halted its CRK service due to the pandemic but is now back in its first and only Philippine destination.

Now, the airline is flying passengers directly from CRK to Yangyang International Airport (YNY).

South Korea has allowed visa-free entry through YNY, which is 158 kilometers from Seoul.

From Yangyang International airport, visitors can go to Gangwon and Seoul City center.

They can stay for up to 15 days under the Visa Waiver Program with restrictions.

However, they must travel in groups of minimum of 5 up to 15 passengers and male arrangements through a designated travel agency.

Filipino interest over Korean culture has soared in recent years and South Korea has risen as a dream tourism destination for many Filipinos.

Those arriving at YNY can experience the South Korean countryside.

The airport is close to Naksan Beach and has direct access to Incheon.

The package is part of a visa-waiver program which was reinstated after being suspended for more than two years because of the pandemic.

Now that COVID-19 cases are dropping in South Korea, the country has decided to relax its border restrictions by exempting fully vaccinated visitors from mandatory quarantine starting June 1, 2022.

Travel restrictions are easing up, not just in Korea but also in other countries as well.
