Aguilars of Las Pinas take their oath

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda ‘Mel’ Aguilar and daughter Vice Mayor April Aguilar took their oath of office on Thursday, June 30.

They were sworn into office by Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Elizabeth Yu-Guray together with the winning councilors in the recent May 9 local elections.

Mayor Aguilar won her third and last term as the city's chief executive.

She vowed to continuously serve her constituents even better through the “Tuloy ang Tapat at Progresibong Serbisyo” program.

The mayor said she will be focusing more on health services, most especially on administering vaccines for the protection of city residents in the fight against Covid-19.

She expressed optimism that elected councilors, through the City Council under the leadership of Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, will even work harder and continue to pass resolutions and ordinances in making the city more progressive.

She added that the services and programs which her administration had previously initiated will still continue but they need to double the efforts to benefit more Las Piñeros.

Joining the Aguilars in taking their oath of office were District 1 Councilors Mark Anthony G. Santos, John Jess Anthony C. Bustamante, Felimon A. Aguilar III, Rex H. Riguiera, Oscar C. Peña, and Florante S. Dela Cruz.

From District 2, the councilors who were sworn in were Henry C. Medina, Luis I. Bustamante, Ruben C. Ramos, Lord Linley R. Aguilar, Danilo V. Hernandez, and Emmanuel Luis C. Casimiro.
