Another alleged member of a criminal group was arrested by the police in Taguig on June 2.
The suspect was identified as Giovanni Perillo, 28, who was tagged by the police as a member of the Utto criminal group responsible for robbery-holdups and proliferation of illegal drugs in Taguig.
Perillo was arrested by the Taguig police along A. Bonifacio Street in Barangay Central Bicutan.
Prior to the suspect's arrest, Taguig police received a tip from their barangay information network about the presence of Perillo in the area.
During a joint operation, authorities saw the suspect armed with a .38-caliber gun which was loaded with two live ammunition.
Also recovered from him was one cartridge of 40 mm explosive.
The police officers arrested him after he failed to show the documents for the firearm and explosive including a gun ban exemption from the Commission on Elections.
Perillo will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and Republic Act 9516 for illegal possession of explosive and Omnibus Election Code.
Last May 23, the police arrested suspect Arnold Varias, 38, who was tagged as a member of the Utto criminal group.
