Jenelyn Olsim went toe-to-toe and earned precious points with her takedown to score a split decision win against Brazilian opponent Julie Mezabarba in their strawweight match in ONE: 158 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Olsim followed up her bronze medal finish in the 31st Southeast Asian Games with a huge win in the mixed martial arts scene to improve to a 6-3 record.
Both fighters survived the first two rounds in a tightly contested affair before Olsim stepped on the gas in the third and final frame and took down Mezabarba at the 3:45 mark.
Olsim peppered Mezabarba's body with a couple of punches while the Brazilian tried to reposition her way for a possible submission but to no avail.
Mezabarba escaped Olsim's grip down the canvas and went aggressive and displayed her muay thai arsenal, unloading a knee strike and multiple elbow strikes that slightly turned back the Filipina.
With 1:30 to spare, both fighters traded strikes and leg kicks before Mezabarba halted Olsim's takedown attempt at the 50-second mark with a short knee strike.
But the Igorot warrior emerged victorious in the end as the two atomweight contenders continued to exchange strikes until the final bell.
Mezabarba, for her part, suffered two straight losses and sustained a 9-4 record.
