Man, 2 cousins yield P2.1-M shabu in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – Three persons, including two cousins, were arrested after police seized 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.1 million from them in a buy-bust operation in an apartment in Rosario Heights Subdivision, Barangay Taculing here Friday, June 3.

Police identified the subject as Jason Javelosa, 30, of Barangay Mansilingan here.

Police Capt. John Christopher Masangkay, head of the Police Station 5 here, identified the two cousins as John Vergel Orquia, 22, and John Matthew Toleo, 25, both residents of Barangay Taculing, who were inside Javelosa’s apartment during the operation.

Masangkay said that Javelosa is considered a high value individual, considering the huge volume of illegal drugs recovered from him, and his previous arrest in 2018 for a drug offense.

Masangkay said Javelosa reportedly gets his drug supply outside the city, adding that he serves as keeper or “bodegero.”

Masangkay said the two cousins were Javelosa’s friends and alleged clients in the illegal drugs trade. However, Masangkay said they are just new in the illegal activity.

Masangkay said that Javelosa will face charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, as well as illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, while the two cousins will be charged for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

The three have yet to respond to the allegations. The operation was conducted in coordination with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
