Reigning champion Ateneo and Adamson figure in a crucial showdown Saturday, June 4 as they dispute the No. 4 spot in the UAAP Season 84 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Blue Eagles recently routed the University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-16, 25-22, 25-11, while the Lady Falcons suffered the opposite fate and absorbed a 25-20, 25-17, 13-25, 25-13 beating against top-ranked National University Lady Bulldogs, who already clinched the first twice-to-beat advantage heading into the Final Four.
Sharing identical 6-5 records, the two squads will break the deadlock for the fourth spot in their 6:30 p.m. encounter.
Ateneo head coach Oliver Almadro, still, wants to take it "one game at a time" in the hopes of securing a spot in the postseason.
NU tops the leaderboard with a perfect 11-0 record, De La Salle follows suit with an 8-3 slate, while University of Santo Tomas slips to third with a 7-3 card.
"We should learn today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) we'll be practicing. Tignan namin kung ano puwede naming magawa towards our game with Adamson," said Almadro.
"They beat us the first round and our drive is to be in the Final Four and we have to do good. We have to do good repeatedly. That's it," added the three-time UAAP champion coach.
Faith Nisperos and Vannie Gandler will provide the main firepower for the Blue Eagles while the frontline duo of Trisha Genesis and May Ann Nuique will anchor the Lady Falcons.
University of the Philippines, meanwhile, keeps its Final Four hopes alive but needs to win the next couple of games to keep up either with Ateneo and Adamson.
The Lady Maroons, who hold a 5-6 record, face a huge hurdle ahead against the unbeaten Lady Bulldogs at their 10 a.m. curtain-raiser.
In other games, UST hopes to bounce back against the already ran Far Eastern University (1-10) at their 12:30 match while De La Salle is off to continue its hot streak against the winless UE (0-11) at 4 p.m.
