Marcos camp names COA, GSIS chiefs


Two more appointees of the incoming administration of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. were announced on Wednesday, June 29.

The new appointees were lawyer Jose Calida, who will serve as chairman of the Commission on Audit (COA); and Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso, who will be the general manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

PRESS Secretary-designate Trixie Cruz-Angeles made the announcement during a press briefing at the BBM headquarters.

Calida is currently the Solicitor General of the Philippines under the outgoing administration of President Duterte.

Veloso is currently the chief executive officer of the Philippine National Bank (PNB) and President of the Bankers Association of the Philippines.

Cruz-Angeles said that the appointees for the remaining executive departments have not yet been selected.

Marcos is set to be inaugurated as 17th President of the Philippines on Thursday, June 30.
