Jimuel Pacquiao absorbs first loss on US soil

Emmanuel "Jimuel" Pacquiao Jr. suffered a decision loss against hometown bet Chris Smith last Saturday, June 25, at the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco, California.

The 21-year-old Pacquiao absorbed his first loss on US soil and sustained an overall record of 5-2 in the amateur scene.

After a massive slugfest in the first two rounds, the third round proved to be instrumental for Smith as he wobbled Pacquiao with a solid left hook.

The referee opted to count but Pacquiao was still good to go but Smith went aggressive and landed more significant punches down the stretch.

With momentum on his side, Smith went for the kill but the eldest ​son ​of Manny Pacquaio was saved by the bell.

In the second frame, Pacquiao bounced back from his early slump and forced Smith to brawl the entire round.

Both fighters seemed gassed from the action-packed first round as Pacquiao mixed in his jabs and hooks.

But the hometown pugilist showed steely nerves and never wavered, responding with his own powerful hooks.
