Parañaque Mayor Olivarez tests positive for Covid-19

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, June 28.

According to City Administrator Fernando Soriano, Olivarez immediately went into isolation after learning of his infection.

Soriano said Olivarez, who is fully vaccinated and has already received his booster shot, is asymptomatic.

He said those who had been in close contact with the mayor were advised to observe themselves for possible symptoms of the disease.

The city administrator added that close contacts of Olivarez were also told to isolate and seek medical assistance should they manifest symptoms.

Soriano said the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) is currently conducting contact tracing and monitoring the mayor’s known close contacts.

He said a regular bulletin will be issued to update the public on the condition of Olivarez.
