Muntinlupa’s weekly Covid-19 cases down to 61


Muntinlupa City’s weekly total of new Covid-19 cases decreased by 13 percent based on the daily data by the City Health Office (CHO).

CHO data showed that from June 20 to 26, Muntinlupa recorded 61 new Covid-19 cases, a decrease of nine cases, or 13 percent, compared to 70 tallied from June 13 to 19.

On June 27, the CHO recorded 18 new Covid-19 cases, 17 recoveries, and zero deaths to bring the total active cases to 45 from 44 on June 26.

Of the 18 new cases, six are listed in Barangay Cupang, three each in Ayala Alabang and Tunasan, two each in Putatan and Alabang, and one each in Poblacion and Sucat. Barangay Buli and Bayanan had zero cases.

Out of the 45 active cases, 18 are in Cupang; seven each in Ayala Alabang and Alabang; four in Tunasan; three in Poblacion; and two each in Putatan, Bayanan, and Sucat while Buli is Covid-19 free.

Since 2020, Muntinlupa has recorded 40,234 confirmed cases, 39,572 recoveries and 617 deaths.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on June 27 that from June 20 to 16, the Philippines had 4,634 new cases, or an average of 662 daily cases, 53 percent higher compared to 3,051 new cases tallied from June 13 to 19.

There were 14 severe and critical cases, while 51 persons died during the period.

The Muntinlupa City government has urged the public to continue following health protocols including the wearing of face masks, hand-washing, social distancing, and getting vaccinated.
