SAGIP Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta--who was among the more memorable members of the UniTeam in last month's polls--recently celebrated an Instagram milestone.
On Monday afternoon, June 27, Marcoleta took to his social media, including Facebook, to thank his growing followers over on Instagram, which are now over 8,000-strong.
"Maraming salamat sa inyong patuloy na pagtitiwala! Makaaasa po kayo na patuloy pa nating pabubutihin ang ating serbisyo sa mamamayan at sa ating bayan. (Thank you for your continued trust! Rest assured that we will continue to improve our service to the people and our nation)," he wrote.
Marcoleta, who last week took his oath as a member of the incoming 19th Congress, ran for senator under the Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte-led UniTeam ticket. However, he backed out of the race just days before the May 9 elections.
His withdrawal sparked speculation that he would receive an appointment once Marcos won the Palace tiff. The latter did win the presidency, but Marcoleta hasn't been appointed to any position in government.
The solon was a deputy speaker in the just-concluded 18th Congress.
During the campaign period, Marcoleta usually bragged about his role in the closure of television and radio giant ABS-CBN. According to him, ABS-CBN violated the laws of the land.
