Here's what will happen on BBM's inauguration

President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is set to be inaugurated into office on Thursday, June 30.

Here’s how things will play out during BBM's big day.

On Tuesday, June 28, Press Secretary-designate Trixie Cruz-Angeles released a statement outlining the events to take place on inauguration day.

According to one of the Inauguration Preparation Committee’s heads, Franz Imperial, the program will be “solemn and simple” so as to not deviate from the norm of presidential inaugurations.

Marcos will be sworn in at the National Museum of the Philippines on June 30. Following tradition, Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo will administer Marcos’s oath of office.

Traditionally, prior to the main events of the day, the president-elect and the outgoing president meet at Malacañan Palace beforehand. The two then proceed to the venue of the inauguration in one of the presidential vehicles.

In the buildup to the main oath-taking, singer-actress and UniTeam campaign period mainstay Toni Gonzaga will first sing the Philippine National Anthem.

The ecumenical invocation will follow, to be led by local religious leaders. The Marcos camp and the Inauguration Preparation Committee have not yet released specific details as of this posting.

Following the invocation, the incoming Senate President of the Philippines–Senator Miguel Zubiri–will read the Joint Resolution inked by the National Board of Canvassers-Joint Congressional Canvassing Committee to proclaim the newly-elected president and vice president.

Marcos will then take his oath before Gesmundo at exactly 12 noon.

A 21-gun salute will be fired before Marcos delivers his inaugural address.

Afterward, a 30-minute long military-civil parade will take place in celebration of the inauguration.

Imperial added that an inauguration song will also be performed after the military-civil parade.

“The inauguration song will be ‘Pilipinas Kong Mahal’ and it will be performed by Cris Villonco and the Young Voices of the Philippines choir,” he revealed.

Marcos will then proceed to Malacañan Palace to take residence there. It is here that Marcos will also induct the members of his Cabinet. They will then hold their first meeting.

A reception will subsequently be held in Malacañan Palace for government officials and foreign dignitaries.
