All in the family: Sen. Revilla administers oath to wife, son, siblings in Bacoor


BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. administered the oaths of office to his wife, son, and siblings on Tuesday, June 28.

Sen. Revilla's wife, incoming Cavite 2nd District Rep. Lani Mercado Revilla, and their eldest son, Agimat Party-list Rep. Bryan Revilla took their oaths of office at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish.

The senator's siblings, incoming Mayor Strike B. Revilla and incoming Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista-Mendiola, also took their oaths in the same ceremony.

Also present during the event was reelected Gov. Jonvic Remulla. He administered the oath to Sen. Revilla's youngest son, neophyte Board Member Ram Bautista Revilla, who will be one of Bacoor’s representatives to the Provincial Board of Cavite.

On June 25, the senator’s second son, incumbent Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, took his oath before his father in Cavite City as the province’s 1st District representative. Jolo will be joining his mother and brother, Bryan, at the House of Representatives.

During the ceremony, Sen. Revilla thanked everyone who supported his family over the past election.

"Kung meron mang taong maligaya ngayon, pinakamaligaya, ako na 'yun. Sabi ko nga, God is so good. Sa lahat ng mga pinagdaanan ko sa buhay, sa lahat ng mga sinalubong ko na pagsubok, nananatili pa rin tayong matatag (If there is anyone who is the happiest right now, it is me. As I have said, God is good. After all the hardships I have encountered in life, all the challenges I faced, we are still strong," Sen. Revilla said during his speech, streamed live through Facebook.

"Napakabigat ng naka-atang sa aming mga balikat dahil siyempre, nandiyan na nga lahat. Nasa atin na ngayon ang paggalaw para maipakita natin at mapabilis ang pag-unlad ng ating lalawigan at ng ating siyudad (The weight of responsibility is heavy on our shoulders. It is up to us now to show and to advance progress in our province and our city)."
