Newly-elected officials in Zamboanga take oath

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Elected officials in Zamboanga City led by Mayor John Dalipe took their oath today, Monday, June 27, at a convention center in the city.

Other top officials who took their respective oaths along with Mayor Dalipe included Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, First District Representative Khymer Olaso, and Second District Representative Mannix Dalipe.

Mayor Dalipe took his oath before Leyte Representative Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the incoming Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In his inaugural address, the young Dalipe invited everyone to be united, saying political colors will cease to exist during his administration.

Dalipe also vowed to improve systems and procedures in government by promoting transparency and inclusive governance.

Meanwhile, newly-elected councilors for the first and second legislative districts were also sworn into office.

The councilors are El King Omaga, Joey Papaya, Boday Cabato, Dante Vicente, Charlie Mariano, Gerky Valesco and Joel Esteban from the first legislative district and Vino Guingona, James Siason, VP Elago, Jimmy Villaflores, Fred Atilano, Jihan Edding, and Eddie Saavedra from the second district.

The inauguration was attended by city hall department heads, regional directors, military and police officials and representatives from other sectors.
