LOOK: De Lima says she feels ‘generally fine’ after surgery

Opposition Senator Leila de Lima on Monday, June 27 disclosed she has been discharged from the Manila Doctors Hospital and now feels “generally fine” after undergoing a major surgery.

The outgoing detained lawmaker, likewise, thanked the supporters and friends who prayed for her health and her eventual recovery.

The senator’s camp earlier filed an extreme urgent motion for medical furlough for surgery and hospital confinement as recommended by her doctor. The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 approved de Lima’s appeal.

A copy of the order said de Lima was diagnosed with Pelvic Organ Prolapse Stage 3 and was advised to undergo Vaginal Hysterectomy with Anterior and Posterior repair.

Her doctors suggested for at least a five-day confinement to assess her status of recovery due to her heart condition since she suffered from a suspected mild stroke last April 2021.
