DPWH-2 installs additional signages in Nueva Vizcaya in light of recent accidents


NUEVA VIZCAYA – The Department of Public Works and Highways Region 2 has immediately installed additional signages in accident-prone areas in the Nueva Vizcaya road to warn the motorists of the dangers ahead.

The installation of signages was in response to the request of the Philippine National Police and the Local Government Units which had called the attention of DPWH after a tricycle driver died on the spot after figuring in a collision with a jeepney.

The accident happened Brgy. Bua, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

On Monday, June 27, DPWH-Region 2’s Regional Director Director Loreta M. Malaluan issued a memorandum to District Engineering Offices in the province to install additional signages in accident prone areas.

Nueva Vizcaya first and second District Engineering Offices thru District Engineer Marlyn G. Inguillo and Marifel T. Andes acted swiftly on the matter, and installed additional signages in accident prone areas to address the recent vehicular accidents that also took the lives of a motorcycle rider and a municipal councilor.

The response was pro-active and done immediately, the DPWH said.

Meanwhile, Wilson Valdez, Information Officer of DPWH region said that upon receiving the instruction from the director over the weekend, Maintenance and Construction personnel of said DEOs worked overtime in the installation operations.

“One of the Department’s main priority is safety, that is the main reason and motivation that our office acted instantly resolving the concern by installing additional signages in accident prone areas,” said RD Malaluan.

DPWH Region 2 assured to continue with the close coordination of establishing road safety measures together with the PNP and Local Government Units in the province of Nueva Vizcaya and the whole of the region.
