Two dead, three injured in motorcycle-tricycle collision in Nueva Vizcaya

VILLAVERDE, Nueva Vizcaya – A tricycle and a motorcycle collided head-on on Friday afternoon, June 24, resulting in the death of two, including a minor, and injury to three others in an accident along Provincial Road, Purok Maligaya, Pieza, Villaverde town here.

Declared dead on arrival were Jansen Abedosa, 13, grade 7, resident of Barangay Pieza, Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya and Christopher Gallien, 20, grade 10 at Bintawan National High School and resident of Purok 6, Nagbitin, Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya.

Injured were Bryan Abedosa, 19, a 1st year IT student of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), Angela Abedosa, 12, grade 6, and Maui Garzota, 19, grade 10. All are from Pieza, Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya.

Investigators said that the tricycle was heading towards barangay Pieza proper driven by Bryan Abedosa, with Angela, Jansen Abedosa and Maui on board, while the motorcycle, driven by Christopher Gallien was heading towards barangay Ibung.

The motorcycle rider encroached on the tricycle lane, resulting in a collision.

Due to the strong impact, all occupants of the tricycle and the motorcycle driver were seriously injured.

They were all brought to Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC) but Christopher and Jansen were declared dead on arrival.
