Man being chased by stray dog killed by car in Pangasinan

BALUNGAO, Pangasinan – A 59-year-old man being chased by a stray dog was hit and killed by a car in Barangay San Leon here Friday, June 24.

The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Eduardo Martinez Degollacion of Barangay San Leon.

Investigation showed Degollacion crossed the road to avoid the animal but was accidentally struck by the car, a Toyota Innova driven by Army Sgt. Leo Solomon Andres, 39, of Barangay Tanulong, Bayambang, Pangasinan, on its way to Rosales, Pangasinan at about 8:20 p.m. Degollacion died on the spot due to head injuries.

Andres was taken to the Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center, Carmay East, Rosales, Pangasinan for checkup and was invited to the Balungao police station for further investigation.
