Isabela in massive clean-up drive against dengue

ISABELA -- The 95th Infantry Battalion joined the Provincial Government of Isabela and the San Mateo General Comprehensive High School in a massive clean-up drive against dengue on Saturday, June 25.

The activity dubbed as Todas Dengue Todo Na ‘To: Ika-siyam na Kagat aims to promote and advocate the enhanced 4-S implementation to everyone as the prime movers in avoiding any possible dengue deaths within the community.

The Enhanced 4-S campaign stands for Search and destroy mosquito-breeding sites, secure Self-protection measures like wearing long pants and long sleeved shirts and daily use of mosquito repellent, Seek early consultation, and Support fogging/spraying only in hotspot areas where increase in cases is registered for two consecutive weeks to prevent an impending outbreak.

Now in its 9th year, this yearly commitment of the province every 25th of June seeks to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and curb the spread of dengue fever and other mosquito-borne diseases in the province.

Earlier, Provincial administrator Atty. Noel Manuel R. Lopez calls on Isabeleño youth to be more conscious, proactive, and supportive in the various efforts of the province in keeping Isabela dengue-risk-free.

Lopez said youth became an active partner of Isabela in promoting its movements and advocacies in health, education, environment, and the culture and the arts, which he has been seeing for the past years.

Meanwhile, Dengue Program Provincial Coordinator Mr. Marvin R. Valiente said that Isabela has recorded 1,495 reported cases as of June 22, 2022.
