Eastern Samar bettor bags P8.9M Mega Lotto jackpot

A lone bettor from Eastern Samar won the P8.9 million jackpot of Mega Lotto 6/45 during Friday night’s draw, June 24.

According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the winning combination was 28 - 10 - 16 - 03 - 25 - 13. It had a total jackpot of P8,910,000.

The winning ticket was bought at an outlet located in Quinapondan, Eastern Samar, the agency said.

Meanwhile, 88 bettors won P32,000 consolation prize each. They were a digit short from winning the jackpot.

The jackpot winner will take home a total of P7,128,000 after the 20 percent tax was deducted.

The government will get almost P2 million or a sum of P1,782,000.

Under TRAIN (Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion) Law, even consolation prizes will be subjected to 20 percent tax so long as they are above P10,000.
