PCG welcomes appointment of ex-PAL prexy Bautista as incoming DOTr chief
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) congratulated former Philippine Airlines (PAL) President Jaime Bautista on Friday, June 24, after he was named as the next secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) by the incoming administration.

Admiral Artemio Abu, PCG Commandant, expressed confidence that Bautista will be able to continue if not surpass the gains achieved by the PCG under the supervision of outgoing DOTr Sec. Arthur Tugade.
We salute Mr. Bautista as the next Secretary of the Department of Transportation and we believe that he will further advance the initiatives toward the expansion of our force and modernization of the PCG),” Abu said.
The incoming DOTr Secretary can expect that the Coast Guard will rally behind him in providing essential services to the people and improving the transportation sector for every Filipinos’ sake),” he added.
Bautista served for 26 years in the flag-carrier PAL as vice president for finance, chief finance officer (CFO), executive VP, and as its president from 1993 to 2019.
