Isabela government calls on its youth to help fight dengue

ISABELA -- The provincial government here has encouraged all Isabeleño youth to join the province’s biggest, most aggressive, and most comprehensive campaign against dengue.

This stemmed from the alarming number of dengue cases in the province that already exceeded the alert threshold as of June 10th this year.

Provincial administrator Atty. Noel Manuel R. Lopez called on the Isabela youth to help the province eradicate the dengue problems.

Lopez made the call during the recently conducted Council Nagkakaisa Isabela Youth Development Council 2nd Regular Quarterly Meeting held at the GFNDy Sr. Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

In his message addressed to the Isabeleño youth, Lopez acknowledged the contribution of the youth sector to the success of every community-serving activity of the province.

He said he would like to witness once again the biggest-ever upcoming province-wide, clean-up drive dubbed as Todas Dengue Todo Na ‘To: Ika-siyam na Kagat on June 25, 2022.

Lopez calls on Isabeleño youth to be more conscious, proactive, and supportive in the various efforts of the province in keeping Isabela dengue-risk-free.

“Nakikiusap po kami sa inyo, to join us please to become a part of Todas Dengue. Alam ninyo, I wouldn’t want to hear another story of a brother, or son or a daughter being victimized by dengue, there is no cure for dengue, there is only a cure for the symptoms of dengue,” he emphasized.

Likewise, Lopez also encouraged those who are well and able to donate blood to ensure regular and safe supply of blood when the need arises.

Lopez also narrated how the youth became an active partner of Isabela in promoting its movements and advocacies in health, education, environment, and the culture and the arts, which he has been seeing for the past years.

Meanwhile, Dengue Program Provincial Coordinator Mr. Marvin R. Valiente discussed the status of dengue cases in Isabela with 1,495 reported cases as of June 22, 2022.
