Fire guts 6 stores at Ilagan City public market

SIX stores were gutted in a fire that hit the Ilagan City public market Wednesday, June 22.
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – A fire gutted six stores selling various goods in Building 3 of the public market here Wednesday, June 22.

An unattended electric fan allegedly caused the fire that started around 2 p.m. and declared fire out after 20 minutes.

Three fire trucks of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here with the help of the Ilagan Filipino-Chinese volunteer firefighters and BFP-Isabela put out the fire.

Damage to property was estimated at more than P2 million.

Mayor Jay Diaz here, who was on site during the fire, assured store owners of assistance from the city government, Paul Bacungan, city information officer, said.
