CSB guns for fourth straight win in NCAA women's volleyball

College of St. Benilde aims to extend its winning streak to four games when it clashes with Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Friday in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Match is at 2:30 p.m. after University of Perpetual Help and Mapua collide at 12 noon.

The Lady Blazers were the only unbeaten team in the league with their last victory coming from Letran, 25-14, 17-25, 25-11, 25-15, last Sunday.

CSB coach Jerry Yee hopes their five-day respite would still keep their fire burning to pull away from the rest of the field particularly from their closest pursuers San Sebastian and Arellano, who tote 3-1 cards.

Francis Mycah Go is expected to banner the Lady Blazers anew after scoring 17 points the last time while help will also come from Jade Gentapa, Jhasmin Pascual and Michelle Gamit, who scored in double figures against Letran.

EAC, meanwhile, hopes to crawl out of the cellar with a 0-3 following 25-21, 25-17, 25-7 loss to Perpetual Help last Tuesday.

The Lady Generals needed to double their efforts on all fronts after managing only 24 kills, four blocks and two aces the last time.

In the other pairing, Perpetual Help and Mapua seek a share of second after carding identical 2-1 records at third place.

The Lady Altas are fresh from a victory over the Lady Generals while the Lady Cardinals are coming off a 25-14, 25-23, 25-17 triumph over Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers last Sunday.
