BBM guest of honor at Bacoor's cityhood anniversary, thanks Caviteños for support

CAVITE – President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was the guest of honor at Bacoor's 10th cityhood anniversary celebration held Thursday, June 23, at Bacoor Elementary School in Barangay Alima.

Also present during the event were Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr, Gov. Jonvic Remulla, Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla, and Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla.

During his speech, Marcos took the opportunity to thank Caviteños for their support during the elections.

"'Nung matanggap ko ang imbitasyon galing sa inyong butihing mayor, sinabi ko, siguro naman, karapat-dapat na ang una kong paglabas bilang president-elect ay magpunta ako at magpasalamat ako sa mga taga-Bacoor at sa mga taga-Cavite... sa inyong pagbibigay ng resulta sa akin sa nakaraang halalan (When I received the invitation from your good mayor, I said it is just right that on my first trip as president-elect, I go and thank the people of Bacoor and Cavite for their support last election)," Marcos said during the event streamed live through Facebook.

The president-elect got 1.1 million votes from the vote-rich province last election.

Mercado Revilla, meanwhile, expressed her high hopes that Bacoor will continue to be one of the most progressive cities in the region over the next years.

"Tiwala ako na ang ating mga nasimulang plano gaya ng tatlong istasyon ng LRT Line 1 extension dito sa ating lungsod – mula Zapote 5, sa Talaba, at Niog station – ay ating dapat maisakatuparan sa tulong po ng ating DOTr, LRTA, at ng bagong administrasyon (I trust that the plans that we started, including the three stations of LRT Line 1 extension in our city – from Zapote 5, Talaba, and Niog stations – will be realized with the help of our Department of Transportation, Light Rail Transit Authority, and the new administration," the outgoing mayor and incoming Cavite 2nd District representative said.

June 23 is a special working holiday in Bacoor City by virtue of Republic Act 10814.
