Meet the Sparrow Academy, the new set of Hargreeves siblings on the block

Hailed from the pages of Gerard Way’s comic of the same name, “The Umbrella Academy” first graced our screens in 2019 with its premiere on Netflix. The critically-acclaimed show introduced viewers to an unlikely set of superheroes, or anti-heroes, as they try to stop the world's doomsday clock.

The show is headlined by its stellar cast. The Umbrella Academy is composed of Elliot Page (from Vanya to Viktor Hargreeve), Tom Hopper (Luther Hargreeves), David Castañeda (Diego Hargreeves), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison Hargreeves), Robert Sheehan (Klaus Hargreeves), Aidan Gallagher (Five Hargreeves), and Justin H. Min (Ben Hargreeves). Its sophomore season in 2020 ended with them putting a stop to the 1963 apocalypse and the introduction of the Sparrow Academy.

For the third season, coming June 22, the Hargreeves siblings are set to go head-to-head against The Sparrow Academy. According to Netflix, the new set is “smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs.” Before you start streaming its latest season let’s get to know who are the characters behind The Sparrow Academy and what supernatural abilities they have.

1. Ben

In this season, Ben comes to like as one of The Sparrow Academy members. The former Umbrella Academy member can summon tentacled horrors from his body. He is Number 2.

2. Macus (Justin Cornwell)

Number 1 of the group, Marcus has superhuman strength.

3. Fei (Britne Oldford)

The blind member of The Sparrow Academy, Fei, Number 3, uses a murder of crows to see and can summon them for an attack.

4. Alphonso (Jake Epstein)

Alphonso is known for his emphatic masochism ability. Number 4 can inflict the pain he got on his attacker.

5. Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez)

Sloane, Number 5, can manipulate gravity and has the ability to make herself and others levitate.

6. Jayme (Cazzie David)

“A loner with a fear-inducing snarl,” Jayme, Number 6, can spit venom that would make her target hallucinate.

7. Christopher

Unlike other Hargreeves siblings, Christopher has a pretty unique origin as it is a psykronium cube. Rounding the group as Number 7, Christopher has the ability to induce fear that can paralyze its opponent.
