“This is the commitment of DICT bringing its program and services closer to the people,” said DICT Region 6 director Jane Javellana at the inauguration.
Opened in time for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month, the DTC-Passi will cater to various services of the DICT, including the DICT’s Tech4ED Project which “gives communities access to information, communication, technology, government services, non-formal education, skills training, tele-health, job markets, and business portals.”
DTC-Passi has a digital training room with computers and laptops that are available for public use with high Internet speed access. DTC-Passi will also be a hub for the ICT-based services of other national government agencies.
Javellana said the target for the rest of the year is to create DTCs in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
